Classic Pasta Bolognese with Rich Meat Sauce

1.Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

2.Add the chopped onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

3.Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef and ground pork. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.

4.Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and red wine. Mix well to combine all ingredients.

5.Add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6.While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.

7.Once the sauce has thickened and the flavors have melded, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

8.Toss the cooked pasta with the Bolognese sauce until well coated.

9.Serve the pasta hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese.
