Pfeffernusse Muddy Buddies

Prepare the Cereal In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice cereal squares (6 cups) and set aside.

2In a microwave-safe bowl, add the white chocolate chips (1 cup) and unsalted butter (¼ cup).

3Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate chips and butter are melted and smooth.

4Add the powdered sugar (¼ cup), ground cinnamon (½ teaspoon), ground ginger (¼ teaspoon), ground nutmeg (¼ teaspoon), ground cloves (¼ teaspoon), ground black pepper (¼ teaspoon), and salt (¼ teaspoon) to the melted chocolate mixture. Stir until well combined.

5Pour the chocolate mixture over the rice cereal squares (6 cups) and gently toss until all the cereal is evenly coated.

6In a separate bowl, combine the powdered sugar (¼ cup), ground cinnamon (½ teaspoon), ground ginger (¼ teaspoon), ground nutmeg (¼ teaspoon), ground cloves (¼ teaspoon), ground black pepper (¼ teaspoon), and salt (¼ teaspoon). This will be the Pfeffernusse spice mix.

7Sprinkle the Pfeffernusse spice mix over the chocolate-coated cereal and toss gently to evenly distribute the spices.

8Transfer the Pfeffernusse Muddy Buddies to a large zip-top bag or airtight container.

9Add the remaining 1/2 cup of powdered sugar (¼ cup) to the bag or container. Seal and shake vigorously to coat the muddy buddies with the powdered sugar (¼ cup).

10Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
