Perfect Crispy French Fries

Preparing the Potatoes Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin, even strips. Rinse the cut potatoes under cold water to remove excess starch.

Preheating the Oil In a large, deep pot, heat the vegetable oil to 325°F (165°C).

First Fry Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 5-6 minutes until the potatoes are soft but not browned. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Final Fry Increase the oil temperature to 375°F (190°C). Re-fry the potatoes in batches until they become crispy and golden brown, about 2-4 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Seasoning In a large bowl, mix the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Toss the hot fries in the seasoning mixture until evenly coated.
