Bread Kova Gulab Jamun

1Cut the edges of the bread slices and crumble them into small pieces in a mixing bowl.

2Add kova, all-purpose flour (½ cup), ghee (¼ cup), sugar (¼ cup), and cardamom powder (¼ tsp) to the bowl with bread crumbs. Mix well to form a smooth dough.

3Divide the dough into small equal-sized balls and roll them into smooth balls using your hands.

4Heat ghee (¼ cup) in a deep pan for frying over medium heat.

5Fry the bread kova balls until they turn golden brown. Remove and set aside on a kitchen towel to drain excess oil.

6In a separate pan, combine sugar (¼ cup), water (¼ cup), saffron strands (¼ tsp), and rose water (¼ tsp) to make the sugar (¼ cup) syrup. Cook until the sugar (¼ cup) dissolves and the syrup slightly thickens.

7Add the fried bread kova balls to the sugar (¼ cup) syrup and let them soak for at least 30 minutes, allowing the balls to absorb the syrup.

8Garnish with chopped pistachios and almonds before serving.
