Decadent Chocolate Cake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder (1 cup), sugar, baking powder (1 tsp), and baking soda (2 tsp).

Add buttermilk (1 cup), hot coffee (1 cup), vegetable oil (½ cup), eggs (2), and vanilla extract (1 tsp) to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips (1 cup).

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream (1 cup) until it simmers. Remove from heat and add the butter and chocolate chips (1 cup). Stir until smooth to create the ganache frosting.

Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of ganache on top. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the entire cake with the remaining ganache.

Refrigerate for 1 hour to set the frosting before serving.

Slice and enjoy your decadent chocolate cake!
