Liege Waffle Batter Made in the Bread Maker

1Add the warm milk (½ cup) and instant yeast (2 teaspoons) to the bread maker pan. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until the yeast starts to foam.

2Add the flour, salt (½ teaspoon), and sugar (1 tablespoon) to the bread maker pan.

3Add the eggs (2 large) and vanilla extract (1 teaspoon) to the bread maker pan.

4Select the dough setting on your bread maker and start the machine.

5After the machine has mixed the ingredients for about 4-5 minutes, add in the softened butter gradually. Allow the bread maker to mix until the butter is fully incorporated and the dough is smooth and elastic.

6Once the dough cycle is finished, let the dough rest in the bread maker for another 30 minutes.

7Remove the dough from the bread maker and gently fold in the pearl sugar (1 cup).

8Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and let them rest for 10-15 minutes.

9Preheat your waffle iron while the dough is resting.

10Cook the dough portions in the preheated waffle iron until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 3-5 minutes per waffle.
