Crispy KFC-style Fried Chicken

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, paprika (1 tablespoon), garlic powder (1 tablespoon), onion powder (1 tablespoon), oregano, basil, thyme, cayenne pepper (1 teaspoon), black pepper (1 teaspoon), white pepper (1 teaspoon), mustard, celery salt (1 teaspoon), and sage to create the seasoned flour mixture.

In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs (3) and buttermilk (1 cup) together to create the egg wash.

Dip each piece of chicken in the seasoned flour mixture, then in the egg wash, and back into the seasoned flour mixture for a double coating.

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).

Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.

Fry the chicken for about 15-18 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.

Remove the fried chicken from the oil and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serve hot and enjoy your homemade crispy KFC-style fried chicken!
