Decadent Chocolate Sheet Cake

1Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 25-inch by 17-inch sheet tray with butter or non-stick spray.

2In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda (1 tablespoon), baking powder (1½ teaspoons), and salt (1½ teaspoons). Mix well to ensure all dry ingredients are evenly distributed.

3Add eggs (4 large), buttermilk (1½ cups), warm water (1½ cups), oil, and vanilla extract (2 teaspoons) to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until well combined.

4Pour the batter into the prepared sheet tray and spread it evenly.

5Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6While the cake is baking, prepare the frosting. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and cocoa until smooth. Beat in confectioners' sugar (5 cups), milk (½ cup), and vanilla extract (1 teaspoon) until creamy and spreadable.

7Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting. Once cooled, spread the chocolate frosting evenly over the cake.
