Creamy Turmeric Rice with Spiced Onions

1.Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.

2.In a deep pot, heat the oil over medium heat.

3.Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds until fragrant.

4.Add the sliced onions and sauté until golden brown and caramelized, stirring occasionally.

5.Sprinkle turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt over the onions. Mix well to coat the onions with the spices.

6.Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Stir gently to combine with the spiced onions.

7.Pour in the milk and water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.

8.Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and let it sit covered for 5 minutes to steam.

9.Serve the creamy turmeric rice topped with the spiced onions and enjoy the flavors!
