Pear Cake

1Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

2In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder (1 tsp), baking soda (½ tsp), cinnamon (½ tsp), nutmeg (¼ tsp), and salt (¼ tsp).

3In a separate large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

4Add the eggs (2 large) one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract (1 tsp).

5Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the sour cream (½ cup), and mix until just combined.

6Gently fold in the diced pears.

7Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.

8Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

9Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
