Creamy Fettuccine with Italian Sausage

1Cook the fettuccine pasta (8 oz) according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage (1 lb) over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

3In the same skillet, add the onion (1 small) and garlic (2 cloves). Sauté until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

4Add the red pepper flakes (½ tsp), dried oregano (½ tsp), dried basil (½ tsp), black pepper (½ tsp), and nutmeg (¼ tsp) to the skillet. Stir to combine with the onion (1 small) and garlic (2 cloves).

5Pour in the heavy cream (1 cup) and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

6Add the cooked sausage back to the skillet and stir to combine with the cream sauce.

7Toss in the cooked fettuccine pasta (8 oz) and grated Parmesan cheese (½ cup). Mix well until the pasta is coated with the sauce.

8Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped parsley on top for garnish.
