Classic Beef Lasagne

1.Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2.In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and cook until softened.

3.Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4.In a medium bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese.

5.Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place 3 lasagne noodles on top.

6.Spread a third of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by a third of the meat sauce and a third of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers two more times, ending with mozzarella cheese on top.

7.Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the lasagne is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden brown.

8.Let the lasagne rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious classic beef lasagne!
