Creamy Macaroni and Cheese with Ham

1Cook the macaroni (8 oz) according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2In a saucepan, melt butter (¼ cup) over medium heat. Add cornflour (2 tbsp) and stir for 1-2 minutes to make a roux.

3Slowly pour in the milk (2 cups) while whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

4Add cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder (½ tsp), onion powder (½ tsp), paprika (¼ tsp), black pepper (¼ tsp), and nutmeg (¼ tsp) to the sauce. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.

5Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

6In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni (8 oz), diced ham (1 cup), and cheese sauce. Mix well to coat the macaroni (8 oz) evenly.

7Transfer the macaroni (8 oz) mixture to a baking dish.

8Sprinkle breadcrumbs (¼ cup) on top of the macaroni (8 oz) mixture for a crispy topping.

9Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
