Japanese Feast

1Prepare the sushi rice by washing the rice and cooking it according to package instructions. Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a bowl and fold it into the cooked rice. Let it cool to room temperature.

2Slice the assorted fresh fish, cucumber, and avocado into thin strips.

3Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat. Wet your hands and spread a thin layer of sushi rice on the nori, leaving a small border at the top.

4Arrange the fish, cucumber, and avocado strips on the rice. Roll the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat, then slice into bite-sized pieces.

5Mix soy sauce and wasabi for dipping.

6Prepare tempura batter according to package instructions. Dip vegetables in the batter and fry until golden brown.

7Cook Japanese short-grain rice in a rice cooker.

8Make miso soup by heating dashi stock, adding miso paste, tofu, and green onions.

9Cook tamagoyaki by whisking eggs with sugar, soy sauce, and mirin. Roll the cooked egg into a log and slice.

10Serve the sushi, tempura, miso soup, tamagoyaki, and rice with pickled ginger and soy sauce on the side.
