Mediterranean Beef and Yogurt Bake

1Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

2In a large skillet, heat the olive oil (1 tablespoon) over medium heat. Add the chopped onion (1) and minced garlic (2 cloves), sautéing until the onion (1) is translucent and fragrant, about 5 minutes.

3Add the minced beef (500 g) to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and dried oregano (2 teaspoons).

4Once the beef is cooked, remove the skillet from heat and let it cool slightly.

5In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt (200 g) and crème fraîche (100 g). Stir until smooth and well blended.

6In a baking dish, layer the cooked beef mixture evenly at the bottom.

7Spread the yogurt and crème fraîche (100 g) mixture over the beef, smoothing it out with a spatula.

8If using, sprinkle the grated cheese (100 g) on top of the yogurt layer for a cheesy finish.

9Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
