Decadent Chocolate Ice Cream

1.In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until the sugar and cocoa are fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

2.Stir in the vanilla extract and chocolate syrup until well combined.

3.Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until completely melted and smooth.

4.Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly, then fold it into the chocolate mixture until fully incorporated.

5.Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

6.Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

7.Once frozen, scoop and serve the chocolate ice cream in bowls or cones, drizzling with additional chocolate syrup if desired.
