Giant Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3.In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, stirring frequently until it turns a golden brown color and has a nutty aroma. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

4.In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined and smooth.

5.Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

6.Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

7.Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.

8.Using a large cookie scoop or your hands, form dough balls that are about 1/4 cup in size and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each cookie to allow for spreading.

9.Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.

10.Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
