Nutty Delight Donuts

1.In a bowl, combine lukewarm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

2.In a separate bowl, mix the milk powder, bread flour, and salt.

3.Add the yeast mixture and egg yolk (or mashed potato for eggless) to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

4.Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

5.Incorporate the unsalted butter and knead until fully combined.

6.Gently fold in the chopped mixed nuts into the dough.

7.Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

8.Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thickness.

9.Cut out donut shapes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

10.Let the donuts rise again for about 30 minutes.

11.Preheat the oil for frying to 180°C (350°F).

12.Fry the donuts in batches until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

13.Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
