Decadent Sweetened Condensed Milk Fudge

1.Prepare an 8x8 inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.

2.In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk, granulated sugar, and unsalted butter.

3.Stir the mixture continuously until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves completely, about 5 minutes.

4.Once the mixture is smooth, bring it to a gentle boil, stirring constantly to prevent burning.

5.Continue to cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the fudge thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan, reaching a soft ball stage (around 234°F or 112°C on a candy thermometer).

6.Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt until well combined.

7.Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

8.Let the fudge cool at room temperature for about 2 hours, or until set.

9.Once cooled, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang, and cut it into squares.
