Classic Vanilla Pound Cake

1.Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan or a bundt pan.

2.In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.

3.Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4.In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

5.Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

6.Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

7.Bake for 55-70 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.

8.Let the cake cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
