Cheesy Tater Tot Casserole with Ground Beef

1.Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

2.Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess fat.

3.Add the chopped onion to the skillet with the beef and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

4.Season the beef mixture with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir well to combine.

5.In a separate bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.

6.Pour the soup mixture over the seasoned ground beef and onion in the skillet. Stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese until melted and well combined. Remove from heat.

7.Spread the beef and cheese mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

8.Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the beef mixture. You can place them neatly or just spread them out.

9.Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.

10.Remove the casserole from the oven, sprinkle with additional shredded cheddar cheese (if desired), and return to the oven for another 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

11.Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving hot.
