3Continue cooking, without stirring, until the mixture reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.

4Remove from heat and stir in the blue food coloring (½ teaspoon).

5Working quickly, pour the blue candy mixture onto a greased baking sheet.

6Allow the candy to cool and harden completely.

Red Candy Preparation Repeat the same steps for the red candy, substituting the red food coloring (½ teaspoon) for the blue.

8Once both candies are hardened, break them into small pieces or strings.

Assembly Mix together the blue and red candy strings to create candy strings with a dual color effect.
