Tokkudu Laddu

Preparation of Chana Dal (2 cups) Wash the chana dal (2 cups) thoroughly and soak it in water (¼ cup) for 2 hours.

Grinding the Chana Dal (2 cups) Drain the water (¼ cup) from the soaked chana dal (2 cups) and grind it into a coarse paste without adding any water (¼ cup).

Roasting the Chana Dal (2 cups) Paste Heat a pan and add ghee (1 cup). Roast the ground chana dal (2 cups) paste in the ghee (1 cup) until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma. Set aside.

Preparing the Sugar (2 cups) Syrup In the same pan, prepare a sugar (2 cups) syrup by heating sugar (2 cups) and water (¼ cup) until it reaches a one-string consistency.

Combining Chana Dal (2 cups) Paste and Sugar (2 cups) Syrup Add the roasted chana dal (2 cups) paste to the sugar (2 cups) syrup and mix well. Cook the mixture until it thickens and reaches a dough-like consistency.

Adding Flavorful Ingredients Add cardamom powder (½ tsp), cashews (½ cup), and raisins (½ cup) to the mixture. Mix well and turn off the heat.

Shaping and Serving the Laddus Allow the mixture to cool slightly. When it is still warm, shape it into small, round laddus using your hands. Let the laddus cool completely before serving.
