Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter a baking dish.
In a pot, bring chicken broth to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 6 minutes. Drain.
In a bowl, mix mushroom soup, half-and-half, garlic powder, salt, pepper, green beans, ham, diced onion, 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, and 3/4 cup crispy onions.
Pour the mixture into the buttered dish. Sprinkle with remaining crispy onions.
Bake for 40 minutes. Add remaining crispy onions and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
