Apple Cinnamon Cake

Preparing the Apples Peel and thinly slice the apples. Set aside.

Making the Cake Batter In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually stir in the flour, milk, leavening agent, and cinnamon. Fold in the sliced apples.

Baking the Cake Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a baking pan. Pour the cake batter into the pan.

Making the Cinnamon Sugar Topping In a small bowl, mix together the icing sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture over the cake batter.

Finishing Touches Sprinkle poppy seeds and walnuts over the top of the cake batter.

Baking the Cake Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
